Engelhard in Croatia

Engelhard Arzneimittel has been present in Croatia since 1996 with several high-quality products, namely: Prospan cough syrup and effervescent cough tablets, Isla Moos, Isla Mint and Isla Cassis lozenges against cough and hoarseness and Nisita spray and ointment for nose mucous membrane lubrication. Their sales results and share in the Croatian market testify to the quality of these products.

Prospan has been the leader in the cough syrup market since 2002, with 43 percent market share, and is one of the 10 best-selling articles (10th place) on the general OTC market. Strength of the brand is also manifested in the fact that Prospan syrup is the only herbal cough syrup with proven mechanism of action at the cellular level, the first such product to be registered as a medicine and that the introduction of effervescent tablets in 2002 was an important innovation on the Croatian anti-cough market. Isla lozenges have a 11 percent and Nisita lozenges 10 percent market share, and it is important to note that Nisita is also the first and only help for insufficiently lubricated mucous membrane in the form of an ointment.

Apart from important brands, Engelhard’s operation in Croatia has also been characterized by sizeable donations. Some of the most important of these are the donation to Srebrnjak pediatric hospital, consisting of herbal anti-cough syrup Prospan, Nisita nose sprays, and the donation to Zagreb Clinic for childhood diseases, consisting of herbal anti-cough syrup Prospan and Nisita nose sprays too.
